Though originally purchased as a home to the original owner, Molly Lynch, she quickly built an extension to the original structure to house all of the travelers who came through Cambria. Named after her father, John Patrick Lynch, the J. Patrick House became the first bed and breakfast in this small coastal town in 1984.
The house was built off of the original owner’s Irish heritage. Every room is named after an Irish county and a four-leaf clover was placed upon the front of the carriage house for good luck and safe travels to all who stayed. To this day it is still mounted so that all who come and go are able to see it.
The J. Patrick House & Inn has had a few different owners over the years that have put in a lot of hard work to maintain such a lovely Inn.

Our guests also have access to the pool and hot tub at our neighboring property, Cambria Pines Lodge. Feel free to email us for a key and then walk, or drive across the street to enjoy!
We also offer two separate sitting areas with board games and cozy spots to read a book – one in our historic House and one in our delightful Inn.
We’re pleased to offer a completely contactless check-in process and keyless entry door locks. You will receive a text message on the morning of your arrival, just click the secure link and fill in your payment information. You will be charged a $1 authorization that will be refunded immediately. We will also email you the door lock access code to your room prior to arrival, so you can gain access to your room completely contactless. If you have any questions before, upon, or after arrival, you can text the Innkeeper at (805) 927-4051 and they will get back to you promptly!
Eat
Your overnight stay includes fresh baked cookies and a homemade breakfast basket delivered to your room. Breakfast will be delivered to your room each morning between 8:30-9:00am. Please share food allergies with us via email, [email protected], prior to your arrival so we can make alternate arrangements for you.

Fall in love with Cambria by exploring some of the many things to do from lighthouse tours to creamery tours, from wine and olive oil tastings to water sports and hiking, from beach walking to antique shops and art galleries, from elephant seals and Hearst Castle to brewery tours. Alternatively, we also welcome you to come unwind, unplug and read a book or relax in our quaint little town or in our gardens. There is something for everyone and the J.
