What are your check-in and check-out times?

Check-in: After 3pm
Check-out: 11am

We’re pleased to offer a completely contactless check-in process and keyless entry door locks. You will receive an email on the morning of your arrival, just click the secure link and fill in your payment information. You will be charged a $1 authorization that will be quickly refunded. We will also text you the door lock access code to your room before arrival, so you can gain access to your room completely contactless.

We require individual guest information for each reservation at our property. If you book multiple rooms under the same guest name, you will be contacted before arrival to provide this information. Failure to provide this information before arrival will result in the cancellation of the additional rooms.
If someone other than the primary guest on the reservation intends to pay for a guest room, the credit card holder will be required to complete a credit card authorization form that permits us to charge their card.

Do you have a front desk?

Our Innkeeper is always available to help you out during your stay, feel free to text us at (805) 927-4051 with any questions or requests. You can also visit the front desk at the Cambria Pines Lodge 24 hours a day.

Is there on-site parking available?

There is one parking spot available per room at the J. Patrick House & Inn.

Are you pet friendly?

We do not allow pets in our facility, but our neighboring property, Cambria Pines Lodge, has pet-friendly lodging! Guests who are found on our property with a pet will be asked to leave and charged in full for their stay. Guests found to have stayed at the property with a pet in their room will be charged a $250 cleaning fee. 

Do you have an elevator?

Please note that our property does not have an elevator and requires the use of stairs to access both buildings. Entry to each building includes a staircase, and 6 of our 9 guest rooms are located on the second floor, accessible only by stairs.

Guests with mobility concerns, knee issues, or who may require accessible accommodations are encouraged to contact us directly before booking to ensure our property will be a suitable fit for their needs.

We want every guest to have a safe and comfortable stay, and we’re happy to answer any specific questions about room access or layout in advance of your visit.

What are the hours for breakfast? Is breakfast included with our room?

Your overnight stay includes fresh-baked cookies, and guests who book directly through our website or by phone will enjoy a complimentary Breakfast Basket delivered to their room each morning between 8:30 and 9:00 AM. Please share your food allergies with us via email, [email protected], before arrival so we can make alternate arrangements.

Guests who book through third-party sites do not receive breakfast; however, it can be added for $10 per person, per day (with at least 24 hours’ notice). Alternatively, breakfast is available across the street at our sister property, Cambria Pines Lodge, for $20 per person. To add breakfast, please text us at (805) 927-4051.

Are children welcome?

We welcome guests of all ages, but ask that guests carefully monitor their children so as not to affect the experience of our other guests. Each room sleeps up to two guests maximum (including children). Please note that children are included in the total guest count, regardless of age. We do not have pack ‘n plays, cribs or rollaway beds.

Why should I book directly with the hotel instead of using Expedia, Booking.com, or Agoda?

Booking directly with us ensures you’ll always receive the best experience. When you book on our website or by calling us, you’ll enjoy:

Please note:
– We only accept third-party reservations made through Expedia or Booking.com. Bookings made via Agoda will not be honored at our property.
– Guests who book through third-party sites do not receive the complimentary breakfast, but it can be added for $10 per person, per day (with at least 24 hours’ notice) or breakfast is available across the street at our sister property, Cambria Pines Lodge, for $20 per person.

Cancellation Policy

Cancel your stay more than 48 hours in advance of check-in time (3pm) on the day of your arrival, otherwise, you will be charged full payment for one night plus tax. Cancellation policies may differ for group rates.

During the Cambria Christmas Market: Due to high seasonal demand, cancellations must be made more than 14 days before arrival (prior to our 3pm check-in) to avoid full charges. Beginning 13 days prior, the card on file will be charged in full. Reservations booked within 14 days of arrival are non-refundable and charged immediately. To cancel, please call 1-800-966-6490. Email cancellations cannot be accepted.

Cancellations can only be made by calling our reservations center at 1-800-966-6490 or by emailing the Inn at [email protected].

Do you accept cash?

No, the J. Patrick House & Inn does not accept cash. We accept VISA, Master Card, American Express, and Discover cards.

Can I request a specific room?

Each of our rooms at the J Patrick House & Inn is uniquely styled, and guests are welcome to request a specific room when booking through our website or by calling our central reservations line at 1-800-966-6490. While we do our best to accommodate these requests, guest room assignments are made on the morning of arrival and cannot be guaranteed in advance.

If you would like to secure a specific room for your stay, we offer a Room Lock Guarantee for a non-refundable fee of $100, which ensures your chosen room will be held exclusively for you.

Do you have a pool?

While the J. Patrick House & Inn does not have a pool onsite, our guests are welcome to enjoy the pool at our sister property, Cambria Pines Lodge, located just across the street. The pool is open daily from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

To access the pool, simply stop by the front desk to pick up a key. We recommend driving over for convenience—complimentary parking and pool towels are provided onsite. If you prefer, you’re also welcome to walk and enjoy the short stroll through the neighborhood.

How close is Hearst Castle?

Hearst Castle is about ten miles (approximately ten to 15 minutes) north of us on Highway One.

Are Hearst Castle tickets for sale at J. Patrick House & Inn? What about discounts on tickets?

We do not sell tickets for Hearst Castle. As the State of California runs Hearst Castle, we are unable to offer discounts. Tickets can be purchased online at www.hearstcastle.org.

How close is the beach?

Moonstone Beach Drive is a little more than two miles away. It’s about a five-minute drive from us.

Are there any wineries or tasting rooms close by?

There are seven wineries in Cambria and San Simeon, including Cutruzzola Vineyards and Stolo Family Vineyards. Check out the details at www.pacificcoastwinetrail.com. There are also two fun wine tasting shops in Cambria called Wine: Taste and Fermentations. If you’re up for a little drive, you can enjoy dozens of wineries and tasting rooms on Highway 46 within 30 minutes of the J. Patrick House & Inn.
